Apologies for cross-postings!

Upland Hills Ecological Awareness Center is hosting an afternoon seminar: The Dollars and 'Sense' of Renewable Energy with renewable energy expert and popular spokesperson, John Richter on Saturday, December 9, from 1- 4 pm.

With growing concern about the social, economic and environmental costs of fossil fuel consumption, Renewable Energy is standing out as a beacon of hope in the search for solutions. From combating global warming and protecting the environment to jump-starting the economy and reducing dependence on foreign oil, renewable energy holds great power and promise.

But how practical or cost-effective is it for individuals wanting to take steps in this direction? What are the options? What investment opportunities are available? How do the numbers stack up? The seminar will address these questions in a style that is lively, entertaining and informative.

John Richter is past President of the Great Lakes Renewable Energy Association. He has presented to the U.S. Congressional Staff on wind energy policy and has presented renewable energy policy recommendations to Michigan Legislators and staff. John was recently featured on the PBS Special: Michigan at Risk: Michigan's Green Energy Economy. The documentary can be seen at: http://wkar.org/michiganatrisk/program.php?num=1801
