Come join us for one of our most popular summer events!
Bring a vegan dish, try delicious vegan foods and get ideas for new
recipes.
Not sure just what to bring? Fruit or tossed salad, steamed vegetables,
or vegan baked goods from a natural foods store or bakery are all great
options. We'll have the barbeque lit for making vegan s'mores and roasting
vegan marshmallows (and in case you bring veggie burgers or veggie dogs).
Paper plates, plastic ware, and drinking water will be provided. All are
welcome to attend.
Admission: Bring a vegan dish sized for 8 servings (a vegan dish is made
with no animal products, meaning no meat, poultry, fish, dairy, eggs,
butter, or honey).

4. VegMichigan's Annual Retreat
VegMichigan's celebrated annual retreat returns, and we invite you to a
weekend of fun, education and relaxation! Join us for any part of August
22, 23, and 24 (Friday evening through Sunday morning) for a wonderful time
in Columbiaville (10 miles NW of Lapeer) at the Tibbits Nature Sanctuary
and
Land
Stewardship
Center
. There will be food, games, classes,
hikes, canoeing, camping, a bonfire, and more. Delicious vegan meals will
be prepared for attendees. Camping is free for all attendees at the
Tibbits Nature Sanctuary, and there is a bed & breakfast nearby for those
who prefer indoor accommodations.
Registration is limited to 50 people, with preference being given to
VegMichigan members.
Please note that discounts will be provided to those with a financial
need.

5. Help Plan the 2009 Great American Meatout!
Did you enjoy this years Great American Meatout? Did you volunteer for
the event? Do you have ideas for making the 2009 Meatout even better? If
so, then please join us for a preliminary planning meeting on Tuesday, June
24. We will discuss the major items like when, where and how big. We will
also assign committee roles for the fall. If youd like to help out,
