 Hi all,

It is important that one of the messages carried in these critical actions
is that *nuclear power is NOT an efficient, affordable nor healthy option
for our future! *This is a great opportunity for any of us who can attend
these events. Bill McKibben is well worth listening to. - Kay

Dear Friends,

Bill McKibben, one of the leaders in the faith-based enviro movement, will
be in Michigan this Wednesday. Our two US senators, Levin and Stabenow are
PIVOTAL and SWING votes in getting some much overdue and direly needed
climate legislation through the US Senate in the next few months. For that
reason, we need to show some numbers at the events below, *especially the
visits outside the US Senate offices in Detroit Wednesday mid-afternoon.

*Below is a list of Wednesday's events.

*First--
12-1pm, UM Diag, Ann Arbor
*Join Bill McKibben, EcoCenter, Clean Water Action and 1Sky, student
activists, and other local organizations working to fight climate change.

*Then, at 2:30pm in Detroit--

**Overview

* * Attendees should dress warmly and wear comfortable walking shoes.
The rally and march will take place rain or shine.
    * Attendees should bring demonstration props, such as signs and banners
expressing the need for clean energy jobs, as well as drums and cowbells.

*Logistics

* * The event will begin with a rally at Hart Plaza near the corner of
Jefferson and Woodward at 2:30 pm. Parking is available in numerous lots and
structures on Griswold, Congress, and other downtown streets.
    * At 3 pm, we will march to Senator Debbie Stabenow's office on West
Congress, roughly ten minutes from Hart Plaza.
    * At 3:15 pm, rallyers will meet outside of Senator Stabenow's office to
call for her leadership and "yes" vote on Senate climate and energy
legislation.
    * At 3:30 pm, rallyers will march to Senator Carl Levin's office on
Michigan, roughly fifteen minutes from Senator Stabenow's office.
    * At 3:45 pm, rallyers will meet outside of Senator Levin's office to
call for his leadership and "yes" vote on Senate climate and energy
legislation.
    * At 4 pm, the event will adjourn.

*Then later in Ann Arbor--
